I recently read a book of essays by the American poet, Robert Hass (What Light Can Do, Ecco imprint, HarperCollins, 2012). In one essay, ‘Zukofsky at the Outset’, Hass quotes another American poet, Wallace Stevens, who says that poetry in general “is not about unreal...
